Firebird is an Oyster 885 RS, designed by Rob Humphreys and launched in Southampton, UK in early 2016.  She is a luxury cruising yacht that has been fully customised for ambitious round the world passages. She boasts a performance deck and rig package, enabling her to compete in Superyacht Regattas. The raised saloon offers guests an exceptional panoramic view of their surroundings, and her custom interior sleeps 7 guests in complete luxury.

Firebird is available for exclusive private charter and has been designed specifically for this purpose, so guests will enjoy all of the bespoke amenities they could wish for at their fingertips. She comes with a crew of three and guest accommodation consisting of three double ensuite cabins and a fourth single cabin with its own ensuite facilities.

The hull is hand laminated using a custom GRP especially designed for the yacht by Oyster’s own structural engineers. It comprises of a combination of E Glass, Kevlar and Carbon Fibre. This offers significant weight savings, strength, stiffness and impact resistance. 

DECK GEAR

Firebird features 6 custom made Lewmar carbon winches plus a single point captive mainsheet system all powered by the onboard hydraulic powerpack.
Firebird’s rig is a custom made Hall Spars design comprising of carbon standing rigging and a fully battened main sail for reduced weight and extra speed.

ENGINE ROOM

A single Cummin Turbo-charged QSL9-330, heavy-duty diesel engine is fitted. 
Firebird has 2 Onan MDKBT e-QD 22.5kW, 220v, 50Hz 4 cylinder generators.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

All power sockets on board are fitted with a multiway adaptor.

The yachts DC electrical supply is 24v and has a 1640 Amp hour domestic battery bank. 
Each engine and generator have their own 95 Amp hour starter battery.
In addition there is a dedicated 24v 55Amp hour battery bank for the navigational instruments.
For charging there are 3 100Amp battery chargers that will run from either shore power or off of the generators.
The yachts main engine also charges via a 150 Amp alternator.

INTERIOR

Firebird's accommodation is magnificently spacious and attractively fitted out with every luxury and practical live-aboard feature expected on a yacht such as this, as well as quite a few that you might not expect. In addition to the sumptuous owner’s stateroom there are three very comfortable en suite guest cabins, one of which can be configured as a study or lower saloon area. The accommodation blends seamlessly and stylishly together to provide a real home from home. Since the crew has two cabins and their own galley with mess area, privacy is assured for all guests.
